TWO CHARGERS SCORE TWO GOALS EACH AGAINST FALCONS

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The Colby-Sawyer men's lacrosse team dropped a conference matchup to Albertus Magnus, 27-4, on Saturday afternoon at Celentano Field.

RAPID RECAP:

- Albertus Magnus opened the contest with a fast start, scoring nine goals in the opening quarter to take an early lead. The Chargers' would pick up two saves in the quarter.

- Colby-Sawyer found its footing in the second. Senior Evan Thomas (Sudbury, VT.)  put the Chargers on the board, sparking a stretch where the Chargers netted two goals in the quarter. James Masterson (North Kingstown, R.I.) added to the effort as Colby-Sawyer showed improved offensive possession despite trailing 15-2 at halftime.

- Out of the break, the Chargers continued to compete, with Masterson tallying another goal for the Chargers.

- Colby-Sawyer closed the game with continued energy, adding a fourth goal late as Thomas finished with his second goal of the game, tying Masterson for most of the day.


INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • James Masterson netted two goals, continuing his offensive presence to bring his total to six on the year.
  • Colby-Sawyer recorded 25 ground balls on the day coming close to their program high during year one with 29
  • The Chargers' had their best shot percentage on the season with .444
  • The two goalkeepers of Jackson Cleveland (Falmouth, Maine) and Keegan Fredette combined for 13 saves on the day.

The Chargers return home on Wednesday night under the lights for their first night game of the year against Lasell with a 7pm start.
