Rindge, NH – History was made on Tuesday, as the Colby-Sawyer softball team achieved a massive milestone: playing the program's first game. The Chargers played the AMCATS of Anna Maria College on Tuesday for a doubleheader.

In the top of the 1st inning Larissa Daigle (Fort Kent, ME) had the first hit in program history, as Daigle singled up the middle of the field. Blackwell recorded the first strikeout in program history for the Chargers in the bottom of the 1st inning.

Later in the 1st inning, Mae McGowan, Madisyn Crossman, and Madison Levesque earned RBIs for the AMCATS to put Anna Maria up 3-0. The AMCATS scored five runs in the 3rd inning and scored one run in the 4th. The AMCATS won the game 9-0.

Daigle, Kyla Angell (North Providence, RI), and Kaylee Scott (Virginia Beach, VA) each recorded hits on the day. Angell's triple was the first in program history.

In the top of the 1st, Scott earned an RBI to score Rodrigues for the first Charger run in program history. Emma Baker (Seekonk, MA) earned an RBI later in the inning. The AMCATS scored four runs in the bottom of the 1st, to take a 4-2 lead. Angell hit a single for the Chargers in the 2nd inning to score two runs which tied the game 4-4. The AMCATS scored eight runs in the 2nd inning.

Levesque earned an RBI for the AMCATS in the 3rd inning, which scored three runs. Daigle and Scott each earned Colby-Sawyer RBIs in the 4th, to increase the Charger score to six runs. Meaghan Doyle earned an RBI for Anna Maria in the 4th. The AMCATS won the game 16-6.

The Chargers will start GNAC conference play on Saturday at Dean College for a doubleheader, with the first game set to start at 12pm.
