NEW LONDON, N.H. – Senior Abby Olden scored the lone goal of the contest in the first quarter to propel the Colby-Sawyer College field hockey team to a 1-0 shutout victory over Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) rival Lasell University on Saturday afternoon at Sally Shaw Veitch Track & Field.

Colby-Sawyer jumped on the attack early, generating five shots and three penalty corners in the opening frame before finding the back of the cage. At the 6:37 mark, junior Brooke Farquhar slid a feed through traffic to Olden, who slotted home her sixth goal of the season to give the Chargers a 1-0 advantage.

Lasell pushed back across the second and third periods, earning four penalty corners and creating several chances in the circle, but the Chargers' defensive unit stood tall to turn away every equalizer bid.

The Chargers reasserted offensive control in the fourth quarter, outshooting the Lasers 5-1 and putting three attempts on cage to control possession down the stretch and lock down the 1-0 victory.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sophie Krauss earned her 12th win and second solo shutout of the season, making four saves across 60 minutes between the pipes—stopping one shot in each quarter.

Colby-Sawyer held an advantage in total shots (14-8) and shots on cage (8-4), while also holding a 6-5 edge in penalty corners.
