Jesse Murch's First Collegiate Goal is Game-Winner

CHICOPEE, Mass.- September 7, 2014 - Jesse Murch (Waterford, Maine) scored her first collegiate goal to lift the Colby-Sawyer field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Bay Path University at Blazer Field.  

Colby Sawyer improves to 2-3 and will play at Rivier on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Bay Path falls to 0-3.

The Chargers' game winner came in the 47th minute of play with freshman defender Jesse Murch (Waterford, Maine) scored off a well-played penalty corner. Senior defender Hannah Coggins (West Newbury, Mass.) took the corner and passed it to senior forward Nykki Stritzinger (Bel Air, Md.) on the circle who flicked it to Murch for the goal.

Junior keeper Kasey Redmond (Germantown, N.Y.) recorded the victory, while junior goalkeeper Anna Meyer (Millbrook, N.Y.) recorded 13 saves for Bay Path.
