Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. - September 27, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer College women's soccer team held New England College scoreless through 90 minutes of play as the Charges edged the Pilgrims 1-0 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play Saturday afternoon.
With the win the Chargers improve to 3-5-1 overall and remain undefeated in NAC improving to 2-0-0. The loss drops the Pilgrims to 7-3-0 on the season and evens their NAC record at 1-1-0.
Neither team could muster a goal through much of the first half. Colby-Sawyer's
Kelsey Campbell (Upton, Mass.) broke the scoring drought in the 37th minute as she would break free from two NEC defenders and slip a shot past keeper Tricia Sardagnola (Shrewsbury, Mass.) recording her first goal of the season.
The two teams battled through an uneventful second half of play as the Chargers would get the only shots on net in the half.
The Pilgrims best scoring chance of the afternoon came with just 20 seconds remaining in regulation as Haley Calabro (Manchester, N.H.) would have an open look but the ball would sail just wide as time expired.

Karley Hamilton (Bradford, Vt.) picked up the shutout win in net for the Chargers. Sardagnola finished with four saves on the afternoon for NEC
NEC returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 30 when they host non-conference opponent Fitchburg State University. Colby-Sawyer returns to the field on Saturday, Oct. 4 when they host North Atlantic Conference rival Castleton State College.
