Box Score NASHUA, N.H. - September 23, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team cruised to an 8-0 win at Daniel Webster on Tuesday afternoon.
The Chargers improve to 5-4 and will play its first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Saturday at intrastate foe New England College.
The Chargers were paced by a pair of goals each from
Alexa Comesanas (Germantown, N.Y.) and
Ashley Mikkila (Oxford, Mass.) while
Olivia Thurber (Penacook, N.H.) picked up three assists and
Rebecca Perley (Sandown, N.H.) set up two others.
Page Viens (Middlebury, Vt.),
Becky Batchelder (Pepperell, Mass.),
Taylor O'Connor (Franklin, N.H.) and
Katharine Kessler (Newport, N.H.) added single goals.
DWC goalie Danielle Melanson (Derry, N.H.) posted 18 saves including 17 in the first half while Colby-Sawyer net minder
Kasey Redmond (Germantown, N.Y.) registered one save in the victory.
Ashlynn Wing (Bennington, N.H.) picked up two shots for DWC.
Colby-Sawyer scored three times in the opening 25 minutes and led 6-0 at the half.
