Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 1, 2014 – The Endicott College field hockey team scored twice in each half to defeat Colby-Sawyer, 4-0 at the Sally Shaw Veitch Turf Field Monday afternoon.
Endicott evens its record to 1-1 and will host Salem State on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. The Chargers fall to 0-3 and will begin a four-game road trip on Saturday at Elms.
The visitors went in front at 4:46 of the first half when a penalty stroke was awarded to senior Ashleigh Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.). She ripped a shot from the mark into the right corner of the cage for her first tally of the season.
Four minutes later, the Gulls doubled the lead to 2-0. Allen was involved again when she found freshman Brittany Bushey (Pittsfield, Vt.) in front of the net. Bushey tipped the ball in past the keeper for her team leading second goal.
Colby-Sawyer held a 3-1 advantage on penalty corners in the first frame, but was outshot 9-3.
The Gulls added a third goal 23 minutes into the second frame. Senior Jess Linden (Stratford, Conn.) received a pass from Kathryn Walker (Middlebury, Conn.) and deposited the ball into the goal.
Senior Mackenzie Hurst (Gilford, N.H.) gave Endicott its fourth goal of the afternoon when she one-timed a pass from Linden into the right corner of the cage.

Taylor O'Connor (Franklin, N.H.) had a chance in the waning moments to get the Chargers on the board, but Cheka Ventura (Lawrence, Mass.) was up to the task and made a kick save.

Jodi Dumayne (Claremont, N.H.) had six in the loss.
