Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 5, 2013 – The Colby-Sawyer College field hockey team won its first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game of the season with a 3-0 triumph over Rivier, on Saturday afternoon at Mercer Field.

Colby-Sawyer improves to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in the NAC, while the Raiders drop to 4-8 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

Jess Buckley (Shrewsbury, Mass.) scored her team leading sixth goal of the season less than three minutes into the game to put the home team on top 1-0. Buckley scored into the lower left side of the cage after she corralled the ball off a goalie deflection.
The Chargers took a 1-0 lead into the half and held an 8-1 advantage in penalty corners and a 4-0 edge in shots.
Colby-Sawyer went in front by two at 46:21 on a nice goal by junior
Alexa Comesanas (Germantown, N.Y.) that was set up by freshman
Erika Leach (Barrington, N.H.). The goal was Comesanas' second of the season.
Leach put the game out of reach three minutes later when she scored her first collegiate goal.

Jodi Dumayne (Claremont, N.H.) did not have to make a save in the shutout victory. Rivier goalie Makenzie Flagg (Shirley, Mass.) made a pair of stops in the loss.
The Chargers finished the game with a 9-0 edge in shots and an 11-2 advantage in penalty corners.
Colby-Sawyer will host New England College on Wednesday, while Rivier hosts Simmons also on Wednesday.
