Adrienne Bender Scores Four Times as Women's Soccer Beats Thomas 4-1

WATERVILLE, Maine - September 30, 2012 - Junior Adrienne Bender (Wakefield, R.I.) scored all four of Colby-Sawyer's goals in a 4-1 win at Thomas College in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer contest Sunday afternoon. 

The Chargers improve to 7-1-2 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play. 

Adrienne Bender, who moved into sixth place on the all-time goals list with 25, put the Chargers on the board at the 34:33 mark, and would tally another score at 41:41 to give Colby-Sawyer a one goal lead going into half. Bender would strike twice more in the second half, scoring all of the Chargers goals in the victory.

Kajsa Kaufeldt (Uppsala, Sweden) scored the Terriers lone goal in the loss. She kicked off the game with a goal in just the third minute of competition, but would be all the scoring the Terriers would have in the contest.

Shay Spencer (Natick, Mass.) and Hailey Nadeau (Newport, Vt.) combined for the win. Spencer worked 75 minutes, while Nadeau played the remaining 15.  

Kate Thibodeau (Woolwich, Maine) had a game high 17 saves in the loss as Colby-Sawyer outshot Thomas by a staggering 40-5. The visitors held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks as well.
