Field Hockey Scores Twice in Second Half to Beat Rivier, 2-1

NASHUA, N.H. - September 29, 2012 - The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team scored a pair of second half goals for a 2-1 come from behind victory over Rivier in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

The Chargers improve to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. The Raiders fall to 2-9 overall and 0-5 in the NAC.

Rivier took an early 1-0 lead as senior Ashley Ruocco netted her goal of the season. Ruocco knocked home a loose rebound after CSC goaltender Jodi Dumayne stopped sophomore Presliegh Skelley's shot inside the 16.

Trailing by a goal after the halftime intermission, the Chargers fought back to tie the game. Emma Frampton snuck a shot past Rivier goalie Makenzie Flagg as she was assisted by Alexa Comesanas.

CSC would get the game winner just five minutes later when Nichole Danehy found daylight after Flagg stopped her previous two shots.

Flagg made a total of 13 saves in the game as the Chargers outshot Rivier 31-6. Dumayne recorded 3 saves (on 4 shots) to earn the win for Colby-Sawyer.

Colby-Sawyer will host Lasell College at Mercer Field on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
