NASHUA, N.H. - September 27, 2012 - Sophomore Hannah Coggins (West Newbury, Mass.) scored two goals to help the Colby-Sawyer field hockey team to a 3-1 win at Daniel Webster on Thursday afternoon.

The Chargers improve to 4-3 overall, which eclipses last season's win total of three. The Eagles fall to 0-6.

The Chargers held a 2-0 lead before Eagle junior Samantha Crooker (Gilford, N.H.) tipped hom a Samantha Bark (Belfast, Maine) stroke with 7:57 remaining to tighten things to 2-1.

But Nichole Danehy (Billerica, Mass.) redirected Rebecca Perley's (Sandown, N.H.) shot with 17 seconds remaining to ice the victory.

Coggins notched the Chargers' two first goals, an unassisted tally in the 15th minute of the first, and her second off an Abbey Symonds (Bristol, N.H.) pass in the 54th.

Colby-Sawyer finished with a 15-5 advantage in total shots and helped control momentum with a 28-4 advantage in penalty corners.

Danielle Melanson (Derry, N.H.) made eight saves for the Eagles (0-6), while Kasey Redmond (Germantown, N.Y.) stopped three shots for the visitors.

Colby-Sawyer plays at Rivier on Saturday at 3:30 pm.
