Women's Soccer Falls to St. Joseph 2-1 in ECAC Semifinals

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - November 10, 2012 - The Colby-Sawyer College women's soccer season came to an end on Saturday with a 2-1 loss to St. Joseph (Conn.) in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) semifinals. The Chargers end the year with a program record 15 wins to go with four losses and four ties. 

The Chargers, who made their first ever trip to the ECAC tournament, were able to strike first in the 12th minute on a goal from senior Laurel Bauer. Senior Colleen Coburn was credited with the assist. 

The Blue Jays responded one minute later with an equalizer from Tiana Saraceno who was able to find space past the dive of Colby-Sawyer keeper Shay Spencer

Early into the second half, the Blue Jays scored the game-winner on the foot of Sara Barnick. She was set up nicely on a through ball from Patricia Nolan. The goal was Barnick's ninth of the season. 

Spencer finished the game with eight saves, while St. Joseph keeper Melissa Dodge turned away five shots.
