Field Hockey Falls at Husson, 4-3

BANGOR, Maine - October 20, 2012 - The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team rallied late, but came up short to Husson 4-3 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles improve to 9-7 overall and sit in second place in the NAC standings at 7-1. Colby-Sawyer dips to 5-8 overall and are in a tie for the last playoff spot at 1-6.

Husson got the scoring started in the fourth minute on the first of three goals for Sabrina Vaillancourt. 

The Chargers tied the game three minutes later on a tally from Nichole Danehy.

The game remained tied at 1-1 heading into the break. 

Vaillancourt put the home team up 3-1 with her second and third goals in a two minute span. The Eagles tacked on a fourth goal by Chrissy Larrabee four minutes later. 

The Chargers started to chip away at the deficit with under five minutes remaining, but ran out of time to make the comeback. Cassandra McAlister and Rebecca Perley added Colby-Sawyer's second and third goal. 

Jodi Dumayne made 10 saves for the Chargers, while Maicee Gustin and Chelsea Kondratowicz each recorded a pair of saves.

The Chargers play at Saint Joseph's of Maine tomorrow at noon.
