Field Hockey Defeated by Plymouth, 7-0

NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 19, 2011 – The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team fell to Plymouth, 7-0 in nonconference action on Monday afternoon.

Plymouth improves to 6-0, while Colby-Sawyer falls to 2-3 on the season.

The Panthers controlled the game throughout and held a 26-4 advantage in shots. Plymouth also had a 14-5 edge in corners.

Plymouth spread the scoring around and freshman Hannah Powers (Attleboro, Mass.) led the team with a pair of goals.

Senior Laura Bergeron (New Hampton, N.H.), sophomore Aisha Rai Thompson (Berlin, N.H.), freshman Olivia Colborn (Lancaster, N.H.), senior Erin Norris (Hilton, N.Y.), and sophomore Jackie Morin (Scarborough, Maine) added a goal apiece for the Panthers.

Plymouth goalie, Hilary Lemelin (Milan, N.H.), notched the shutout and made two saves. Colby-Sawyer goalie, sophomore Colleen O'Hurley (Weare, N.H.), made 11 saves in the loss.

Colby-Sawyer travels to Wheelock tomorrow for an 8:00pm start. Plymouth will host Westfield State on Saturday at noon.
