Simmons Defeats Colby-Sawyer Field Hockey, 4-2

BOSTON, Mass. - October 8, 2011 - The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team was defeated by Simmons, 4-2 on Saturday in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action.

Simmons evens their overall record to 7-7 and improves to 2-4 in NAC play. Colby-Sawyer falls to 3-8 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

Alexa Comesanas put the Chargers up with the game's first goal in the 31st minute. Katharine Kessler was credited with the assist.

Simmons was able to tie the game at 1-1 before the half and began the second with two unanswered goals for a 3-1 advantage.

Molly Prudden cut the Colby-Sawyer deficit to 3-2 with her second goal of the season. Nykki Stritzinger picked up the assist.

Simmons added one more goal en route to the 4-2 victory.

Colleen O'Hurley made 12 saves in the loss.

The Chargers return to action on Saturday at Thomas.
