Colby-Sawyer College Athletics

Kelsey Brown had a spectacular first trip to the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships. On Friday, Brown had a record-setting swim in the 100 butterfly prelims during the morning session. She beat her previous program record time of 1:00.58 with a new mark of 59.97 to finish second in the race and earn a spot in the A-Finals. On Friday evening, Brown broke her record again and finished with a new standard of 59.92 to finish in third place. 

Brown also had a great performance in the 200 IM, just missing a school record. She finished ninth in the prelims with a season best time of 2:16.88 and only .25 away from the record. She clocked in at 2:18.41 in the B-Finals to finish second and 10th overall. 

Brown also was part of the 200 freestyle relay team that finished 10th overall and the 400 medley relay team that placed eighth overall.  

On Saturday, Brown came away with another school record. She was seventh in the 400 IM prelims with a record time of 4:51.01 to beat the previous mark by more than four seconds that was set in 2006 by Colby-Sawyer Hall of Famer Signe Linville '06. In the A-Finals, Brown finished eighth with a time of 4:52.04. She also was a member of the 200 medley relay team that finished 11th.

On Sunday, she helped the 400 freestyle relay team win the B-Finals.
