Krystyna Estrada led the Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team at the North Country Invitational hosted by SUNY Potsdam over the weekend. She broke her own school record in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.45, surpassing the 54.54 mark she set last season. Estrada took top honors in the race that featured 34 competitors. She also won the 200 freestyle in 2:01.48, which was one half second quicker than second place.
Estrada also swam past 34 competitors en route to first place in the 50 freestyle. She touched the wall at 24.62, which was a half second faster than the second place finisher.
Estrada teamed with Elaine Miller, Erin Dunican, and Emma Nagle to take a second place finish in the women's 400 medley relay team at 4:19.78. The same team also came away with second place in the 200 freestyle relay at 1:44.57.
In the 200 medley relay, Estrada, Miller, Dunican, and Nagle placed third in a time of 2:00.06. Miller, Dunican, Estrada and Jen Gavell came in third in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:50.56.
