NEW LONDON, N.H. – April 21, 2013 –
The Colby-Sawyer women's lacrosse team celebrated senior day with a 15-12 win over SUNY Canton on Sunday afternoon.
The Chargers improve to 7-8, while SUNY Canton drops to 5-7.

(Stowe, Vt.) had a team-high four goals. Sophomore Carly Baker
(Beverly, Mass.) added three goals and a team best three assists. Senior Laurel Bauer
(Bradford, N.H.), sophomore Alyssia Janak
(Bourne, Mass.) and freshman Caitlyn Whearty
(Hampstead, N.H.) added two goals apiece.
Sophomore Tressa Goolden (Canton, N.Y.) scored a team best four goals for the Kangaroos. She added five of the team's seven assists. Freshman Keeley Rice (Potsdam, N.Y.) and freshman Megan Poupore (Massena, N.Y.) added three goals each, while senior Brittani Bessette (Canton, N.Y.) scored twice.
The game was back and forth for the first 10 minutes and was tied 5-5 with 19:03 left. Colby-Sawyer scored the next four goals and finished the frame on a 6-2 run to take an 11-7 lead into halftime.
The second half saw the Kangaroos outscore Colby-Sawyer 5-4 and cut the deficit to two with 11:11 remaining in the game. A Laurel Bauer
goal with 6:06 left secured the 15-12 victory for the Chargers.
Colby-Sawyer freshman Karley Hamilton
(Bradford, Vt.) earned the win and made 10 saves. Freshman goalie Alyssa Altschuler (Cheshire, Conn.) made 10 stops in the loss.
Seven of Colby-Sawyer's goals came via the free position.
Colby-Sawyer will host Husson on Wednesday in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) tournament. SUNY Canton hosts Roberts Wesleyan College on Thursday at 4:00 pm.
