BETHEL, MAINE - March 9, 2010 - The Colby-Sawyer women's ski team competed in the USCSA National Championships this past week. The Chargers finished in 7th place, marking their 13th top-ten finish in the past 13 years.
Colby-Sawyer raced to an 8th place finish in the Giant Slalom and a 5th place finish in the Slalom. The Chargers were led by
Danielle Shannon who posted top-ten finishes in both the slalom and giant slalom. Shannon finished 5th overall and qualified for the US Alpine Nationals for the second straight year.
The USCSA announced it's annual All-American Awards.
Danielle Shannon was named to three All-American Teams for the third straight year. Shannon was named a First Team All-American for the Women's Slalom and Women's Combined and was named a Second Team All-American for the Giant Slalom.
The Charger's also earned two Academic All-American awards.
Kellie Tingle was named a Second Team Academic All-American and
Danielle Shannon was an Honorable Mention Academic All-American. This is the second straight year for both Tingle and Shannon as Academic All-Americans.
